The Buccaneers have expressed interest in signing Buffalo Bills free agent linebacker Angelo Crowell. The 6-foot-1, 246-pound Crowell, 27, has started 42 games in five seasons with the Bills.

After losing out on the bidding war with the New Orleans Saints for linebacker Jonathan Vilma, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have turned their attention to another free agent linebacker.

PewterReport.com is reporting the Bucs have expressed an interest in signing Buffalo Bills free agent linebacker Angelo Crowell. He is not yet scheduled to visit One Buc Place.

Crowell, 27, originally entered the NFL in 2003 as a third-round draft pick. He has spent five seasons in Buffalo, starting 42 games over the past three seasons.

The 6-foot-1, 246-pound Crowell has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons, but he still has recorded seven career sacks and five career interceptions.

The Bucs released starting linebackers Derrick Brooks and Cato June along with three other players one day before the free agent signing period began.

New Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said the team believes younger players Quincy Black, Geno Hayes and Adam Hayward will compete for starting jobs at the outside linebacker positions this year, but the team is looking to add players to the competition.

So what? The damage is done. Dominick's a bust! Now he's just trying to sign anyone he can to save his job!

I hear Derrick Brooks is available. He started for some team for 14 seasons, was a former Defensive MVP and is the most durable defensive player in leadue history.

Since we've only got Dominik working the phones (maybe the Glazers went down to 1 phone line once they dumped the front office), let's spend the rest of the day on the phone with his agent, make an offer that gets beat by another team, all while 20 other free agents get signed elsewhere today.

Yea, you guys just know it all, don't you? The Bucs should of hired you as GM. I wonder how that would of went?

If I would have taken the GM job, one thing I would of made CERTAIN of is that I had the people in place to run an effective front office. I'm not knockin' Dominik, I actually like the guy. But if you haven't read the latest Fab5, you should.

I am with you DLS5492. What is up with you some of you fans already being bitter. The negative comments already on the new regime are pathetic! Give Dominick and Morris a chance. How do you know whether it is going to work or not? I think they are making a strong effort to improve the team. Let's see what happens on the field

They should take a look at Burnett, the LB from Dallas. He is a very good player and might be over looked because he played mostly in the Nickle. Burnett is a bit undersized for the 3-4, but could be a star in the 4-3.

I wouldn't blame any of our failures to sign any top notch FA's this year on Dominick. Take the Haynesworth attempted signing for example. We threw him the same money but the safe play was to sign with Washington.
I hope none of you expected any quality FA's to sign with a team in so much transition and with so many ??????????'s at QB. Who would sign here? To many ?'s. I hope we don't trade away any more pick's, especially on positions that didn't need fixing.
