The Bucs signed seven try-out players to contracts Monday. The Bucs signed USF DE Jarriett Buie, OL Marc Dile, WR Amari Jackson, Louisville WR Pat Carter, Hofstra RB Kareem Huggins, James Madison CB Evan McCollough and Southern Miss T Demar Dotson. The team also released three players.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers apparently liked what they saw from over a handful of try-out players during last weekend's rookie mini-camp.

Seven players' auditions led to contract offers from the Bucs, and they inked those deals on Monday.

The newest group of Buccaneers includes three USF Bulls in defensive end Jarriett Buie, offensive lineman Marc Dile and wide receiver Amari Jackson.

The other four try-out players signed to contracts were Louisville WR Pat Carter, Hofstra running back Kareem Huggins, James Madison cornerback Evan McCollough and Southern Miss tackle Demar Dotson.

In order to make room for these seven players on their 80-man roster, the Bucs released wide receiver Paris Warren, T Andre Douglas and CB Greg Fassitt.

The Bucs technically own the rights to 86 players, but their six picks from the 2009 NFL Draft will not count towards the offseason roster until they are signed to their respective contracts, which means some of the players on the offseason roster today may not make it to training camp in August.

The Bucs have added a total of 14 undrafted free agents since the 2009 NFL Draft concluded.

Jackson (6-5, 202) caught 70 passes for 891 yards and four touchdowns in three seasons with USF, which like One Buc Place is located in Tampa.

Buie (6-4, 249) started 26 of the 38 games he played in at USF. Last season, Buie started 13 games and notched five sacks. In his three seasons with the Bulls, Buie recorded 74 tackles (15 for a loss), seven sacks and two passes defensed.

Dile (6-4, 275) is a versatile offensive lineman. He played both tackle positions in four seasons and proved to be a durable player, playing through injury. Dile started a total of 37 games for the Bulls during his four-year collegiate career.

Carter (6-3, 215) originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. A former player at Georgia Tech, Carter transferred to Louisville in 2005. The speedster caught 26 passes for 395 yards and five touchdowns in his senior season.

Dotson (6-9, 268) is considered a good athlete. He played four years of basketball in college and only one season of collegiate football. Although he played defensive line in college, the Bucs are attempting to mold Dotson as an offensive tackle at the pro level.

Huggins (5-8, 189) displayed impressive athleticism at the rookie mini-camp. He graduated from Hofstra in 2007. He carried the ball 428 times for 2,188 yards (5.1 avg.) and 21 touchdowns during his collegiate career.

A three-year starter in college, McCollough (5-10, 190) notched 220 tackles, four interceptions and 14 passes defensed in 44 games at James Madison.

Ya let Paris Warren go??????? I am begining to seriously wonder what is going on in the minds of this new coaching staff! Unless his previous injury was still an issue, I believe letting this player go is a big mistake! The kid was phenomenal, A real potential play maker! I'm not so sure about this call, or a few of the others that have been made in the last few weeks!!!!!!! You all has gots a lot to prove, and I hope like hell you can pull it off!

SCLOBERNOCKER

Paris had one good game against scrubs. He's not gonna make the team regardless... Might as well bring in somebody we HAVENT seen the past few offseasons.

Domenik really has a hard on for Amari Jackson, who has been an embarassment based on everything I've heard.

The Bucs announced the signing of a TE named Purvis yesterday, but he's not on the roster or any of these lists. Was that a media goof on their part?

No one should really be surprised they cut Warren. He was an okay fit as under-sized possession reciever in a dink and dunk offense that was very thin in depth/talent at WR. He doesn't really have as much to offer in a more vertical pass attack and had little special teams ability, hence the move. Guys with more big-play ability like Kelly Campbell, and dare I say D-Jackson, will get their shots now.

Paris Warren is not a bad reciever at all, who cares if it was against scrubs in the houston game, Earnest graham used to do the same to scrubs in presason for years and he got his chance and look what happened. It wasnt gonna hurt to give him a chance you never know what could happen, He could grab a game winnig TD for us like a well known nobody did in 2005 against the redskins, You remember Edell Shepard??? yea a perfect nobody that grabed a game winning TD catch to let Alstott score the 2 point converstion. So until the guy is actually given a chance to play, you cant really call him sorry. I do recall he actually played in one game for us some years ago i think maybe the eagles in 05 or 06 and he was thrown the ball and caught it for like 20 something yards i mean it doesnt make him a great player for a 1 catch but he came in for just like a play if i remember correctly the ball was thrown and he caught it over a derfender he was given just that chance and he came threw.

I believe Edell also dropped a potential game winning TD pass in the end zone from Chris Simms in a 2005 home playoff game against the Redskins which the Bucs lost. There are plenty of average college receivers that are trying to make their way into the NFL. From time to time you can find a solid NFL wideout in the group but this is a competitive business and Paris had 2 or 3 years to prove himself. That's more than most 7th rounders would get. Cutting Paris makes sense, give another young WR a chance and maybe you'll find someone special. Paris had good hands but wasn't very big and wasn't a great athlete. He wasn't going to get any better. Time to move on.

I think Sammie's the reason Parren is gone.. So with Bryant, Clayton, and Stroughter.. I'm thinking they wanted to see what some new guys can do.. Hopefully Jackson can pick it up..

Paris Warren had a great pre-season game, unfortunately was injured and has been unable to recover. I think Richard Mann has seen enough of him over the past few years to make an evaluation.

Right you are scubog, Paris has never been the same since the injury.

I think the surprise is that they cut Warren and kept Amari Jackson. Especially since we know that Paris can play and from what we've heard about Jackson from Pewter Report, he has been very unimpressive in camp.

Questionable move. I don't think it makes or breaks the Bucs season but not sure it was the correct move.

Amari will get cut - have no fear - he still has a bad case of the dropsies. Paris just doesn't have it anymore. What 'it' he did have left him when got injured.

I can't wait for some football...Go Bucs!

There is a conerback in AFL 2 that we should look at he is better than our 3rd coner now. He name is Al Phillips. Great size at 5'10 200lbs and he leads that league in pass break ups.
