Bryant, White Doubtful For Sunday's Game

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took the practice field without two key starters on Friday -- wide receiver Antonio Bryant (knee) and defensive end Stylez G. White (shoulder).

Bryant has been dealing with a knee issue ever since he underwent minor knee surgery in the preseason. He was held out of last Sunday's game vs. the Green Bay Packers and has missed all three days of practice this week.

Should he be held out of Sunday's game in Miami, Bryant, who is listed as doubtful on the team's injury report, would be replaced in the starting lineup by WR Maurice Stovall.

White, who is coming off an impressive 1.5 sack performance vs. the Packers, injured his shoulder vs. the Packers. Like Bryant, White is listed as doubtful for Sunday.

Bucs head coach Raheem Morris said backup DE Tim Crowder likely would be called on to fill in for White vs. the Dolphins.

Bucs running back Derrick Ward was added to the injury report Friday with a knee ailment. He is listed as questionable.

Third-string quarterback Byron Leftwich (right elbow) was held out of practice again today. He is listed as questionable.

Bucs wide receiver Michael Clayton (knee), guard Davin Joseph (ankle), running back Clifton Smith (knee) and cornerback Aqib Talib (hamstring) are listed as probable.

PewterReport.com will have more on this story later today.

So,this issame old same with Bryant?
If he can't play after all this time, then either put him on IR or keep him inactive and please lets not discuss Bryant anymore. I believe he is through with the Bucs. He made his millions and I would not sign him no matter what because he is officially injury prone. We need to let him go.
This game time decision crap is just crap.

It is getting old. One would begin to wonder if the old attitude problems are beginning to creep in..

You think Vontae Davis is scared of Stovall or Clayton? Didn't think so.
It hurts, but other people have to step up.

to those of you who never had a knee injury or played football, the team messed this up by not having him have the surgery earlier in camp or over the summer i believe the knee bothered him last year, you can't just have surgery and then play ball tomorrow like nothing happened. it does get hit and tweaked on most plays, he still is our best receiver and one of the better ones in the nfl

Some of you are conveniently forgetting that he played every game last year, so I wouldn't call him injury prone. He has been battling this injury all year, and to his credit he has played in all but two. Thats a pretty big accusation to say his "attitude" has anything to do with this - when and where has he caused any problems for this team? I don't see any evidence that he is tanking it. In fact, he needs to play to get a long term contract from any team, and he knows it. A knee injury like this one makes it very difficult to cut and explode, which are all key ingredients for a receiver. It is very obvious that he is not the same AB as last year because his knee is not right. They need to rest him until it is full healed, and hopefully get him back healthy for a few games to evaluate what he has left in the tank. But you should not attack his character over this. This is football, injuries happen.

I agree Hawaiian Buc. I believe Bryant genuinely wants to be out there helping the Bucs win games.

Okay, I was wrong to say "injury prone"; however, his contribution this year versus last year doesn't warrant what he is being paid. He is being paid MILLIONS! Maybe it is the Bucs fault for not insisting he has surgery before they ever extended his guarantee as a top WR.
