With all the underclassmen declared for the 2010 NFL Draft, Pewter Report issues its second mock draft of the year. Who is projected to go to the Rams with the first overall pick? Who will the Bucs take third overall? Find out here.

With the Senior Bowl just days away, Pewter Report provides its second NFL mock draft leading up to the 2010 NFL Draft. The deadline for the underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft has expired, so the draft eligible players are set. The early entries are marked with a *.

1. St. Louis Rams- Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh
Suh is the best football player in the draft. The Rams target quarterback in round two.

2. Detroit Lions- Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung
The Lions have to protect QB Matthew Stafford better. Okung is the best value after Suh for them.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy *
Don't rule out a trade down to get Brian Price or Rolando McClain. McCoy is the BPA.

4. Washington Redskins- Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen *
Clausen's attitude hurts him, but that doesn't faze Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan.

5. Kansas City Chiefs- Tennesssee S Eric Berry *
The Chiefs need help all over and take the best player available.

6. Seattle Seahawks- Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford *
Pete Carroll gets a quarterback to start the rebuilding process.

7. Cleveland Browns- Florida CB Joe Haden *
Haden is NFL-ready and hands down the best cornerback in the draft.

8. Oakland Raiders- UCLA DT Brian Price *
Oakland could lose Richard Seymour. They need help all over the defensive line.

9. Buffalo Bills- Rutgers OT Anthony Davis *
The Bills made a big mistake passing on Michael Oher. The new regime knows OT is a critical need.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars- Georgia Tech DE Derrick Morgan *
The Jags struggled to rush the passer, but Morgan is similar to bust Derrick Harvey.

11. Denver Broncos (from Chicago)- Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant *
Brandon Marshall is likely to be dealt. The Bengals or Ravens are potential landing spots.

12. Miami Dolphins- Alabama LB Rolando McClain *
He deserves to go higher, but could fall to this area like Patrick Willis did '07.

13. San Francisco 49ers- Maryland OT Bruce Campbell *
The freakish Campbell has been called the Vernon Davis of offensive linemen.

14. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver)- USC DE Everson Griffen *
A little high for him, but college-to-pro coaches like to take their guys.

15. New York Giants- Clemson RB C.J. Spiller
Tom Coughlin is on the hot seat, and Spiller could be an instant difference-maker.

16. Tennessee Titans- Florida DE Carlos Dunlap *
Titans go for another ‘freak' from Florida. Dunlap is good, but not great.

17. San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina)- USC S Taylor Mays
Mays is a top-flight athlete that needs to improve as a football player.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers- Texas S Earl Thomas *
Troy Polamalu is hurt a lot, and their other safeties get beat often.

19. Atlanta Falcons- Florida State CB Patrick Robinson
A tools and upside player. He didn't produce a whole lot, but the Falcons need DBs.

20. Houston Texans- Tennessee DT Dan Williams
Houston could use a bigger defensive tackle to help their DEs and LBs.

21. Green Bay Packers- Iowa OT Bryan Bulaga *
The Packers offensive line allowed way too many sacks. Chad Clifton is old.

22. Cincinnati Bengals- Florida TE Aaron Hernandez *
The Bengals need a weapon in the passing game for Carson Palmer.

23. New England Patriots- Florida QB Tim Tebow
Brady's age and contract status are issues, Belichick loves Tebow and the program.

24. Philadelphia Eagles- South Florida DE Jason Pierre-Paul *
JPP is a skilled pass rusher, and very athletic. Eagles need more pass rush.

25. Baltimore Ravens- Notre Dame WR Goldent Tate *
Tate is a very good receiver, and the Ravens need a deep threat for Joe Flacco.

26. Arizona Cardinals- TCU OLB Jerry Hughes
The Cardinals need to improve their defense. Hughes is a great edge rusher.

27. Dallas Cowboys- Oklahoma OT Trent Williams
The aging Dallas OTs got abused late in the year. Williams has a nice skill set.

28. San Diego Chargers- Georgia Tech RB Jonathan Dwyer *
The Chargers find a good fit to replace LaDanian Tomlinson at running back.

29. New York Jets- Texas OLB Sergio Kindle
The Jets could use an edge rusher, and Kindle looks like a great fit in the 3-4.

30. Minnesota Vikings- LSU S Chad Jones *
The Vikes don't have a lot of needs. Safety is one. Jones is a good all-around player.

31. New Orleans Saints- Missouri OLB Sean Weatherspoon
In a normal year Weatherspoon would go higher. Saints benefit from a deep draft.

32. Indianapolis Colts- Idaho G Mike Iupati
The Colts running game needs a road-grader, and Iupati is athletic enough for them.

The bright side is you no longer have St. Timmy Tebow in the top 10. The down side is that you still think he's going to go in the first round.

See Wuerffel, Danny and you might get a better gauge on where the Mechanically declined FB-sized passer will be going.

i hope you guys are right that mccoy is still there. will be interesting to see if we move.

this would twice as interesting if you would take it out another 3 picks!

BucCaddy: Wuerffel didn't have Tebow's level of passion for the game or his willpower to be successful, though. That makes for a big difference.

I don't think there's any way Tebow gets past Jacksonville at #10. What Jacksonville needs more than anything is a spark that will sell tickets, and with Jacksonville a hop, skip and jump from Gainesville, I guarantee you Tebow will sell out the building as the Jaguars' franchise QB. Yes, Jacksonville has Garrard, and he's a tremendously consistent QB, but he has trade value that the Jaguars can exploit, and it's obvious that they're still a ways off from being a serious Super Bowl contender, so there's no real reason *not* to go for it.

As far as the Bucs are concerned, I still like the idea of trading up with the Rams for Suh since it shouldn't take too much to pull off, but we should be able to get McCoy at least no matter what, even if Detroit surprises me and goes OL as CC is predicting.

ILoveMeSomeFire

I still say we try to trade down if possible and try to get Price or McClain for sure... They will both be solid and we could use another2nd rounder to try and trade back into the first round and maybe try to get a decent LT before they are all gone...

DEACON. MEL

LETS DROP DOWN AND GET JOE HADEN AND GET A D.LINEMAN FROM FA. THAT WAY WE WILL HAVE THE CORNERS COVER.

Agree with Mort76...I hope McCoy is still there. Mike Mayock, who towers over Mel Kiper Jr. in player evaluations..calls Suh and McCoy 1 and 1A. I just don't see the Lions passing on McCoy given Swartz's defensive background.

buctuff

I still think Bucs will trade the pick to Denver ,getting Marshall and price with the pick

12:35pm, January 23, 2010

TampaBucks05

Im pretty certain St. Louis will trade down with us and we will get SUH, the unrestricted FA QBs this year are horrible & St.Louis has already drafted a DT in the 1st round for two consecutive years now. I dont see any talent past the 2nd round, as far as QBs go. Bulger is getting too old and he isnt producing anymore, the Rams front office cant afford to pass up a 1st round QB for a standout player right now.

1:11pm, January 23, 2010

TampaBucks05

But then again, you have to ask yourself do we really need Suh? We can get a high profile DT in the free agency or in a later round. The next position of concer should be WR. You say your building around Freeman time and time again and yet you are supposedly letting our only high-profile WR go because you dont like his attitude. If thats the case I think the Bucs need to seriously look into drafting Dez Bryant in the 1st round.

1:15pm, January 23, 2010

tpeluso

TampaBucks05: Dez Bryant at #3 would be a tremendous reach. The depth at WR in this draft isn't great, but good enough so that the Bucs could get someone on the level of a Golden Tate or a Brandon LaFell (who flew under the radar this year because LSU didn't have great QB play) with their second-round pick, provided it isn't traded to the Rams for a deal to get Suh. The other solution is a trade with Arizona for Anquan Boldin, and rumor has it that it won't cost much this time - a mid-level draft pick and a player might be enough this time.

1:35pm, January 23, 2010

BucCaddy

tpelso, Tebow is inconsistent in his accuracy and shoddy in his mechanics. He has also leveled off since his Soph. year. Scouts look for trends and his is flat line.

You do not spend a first round pick on those type of players. Of course I'd be happy if someone did because that would push down a player of need to the Bucs. Watch and see though, Tebow is not well regarded by most scouts and unless ownership makes a direct order he's not going in Day 1 or Day 2 for that matter. Many great college QB's fall due to projectional concerns, Jason White, Colt Brennan, Graham Harrell, Troy Smith etc etc etc.

1:52pm, January 23, 2010

JDouble

I don't think Price will go in the top ten. I'm high on the kid, but I really doubt many teams would put him far enough ahead of the other top 8 DTs for him togo this high. We'll see.

No way Dunlap will go in the 1st at all. Most scout's are saying he needs a good Shrine game performance and combine to keep him from falling to the 3rd round or later.

I hope your wrong about Chad Jones going in the first. I think he is the answer to our Safety problem. Hope he's there in the 2nd.

Tebow to the Patriots in the first round definetly gave me a chuckle.

I love the draft and have way too much time on my hands, so here is my Buccaneers 2010 5 round mock draft.....

1st round #8-12?:
(Trade back to 8-12 )
DT Brian Price - UCLA

2nd round #3:
MLB Brandon Spikes - Florida

2nd round #8-12?:
(From trading back in the first round)
WR Golden Tate - Notre Dame

2nd round #11:
(From Bears for Adams)
DE Brandon Graham - Michigan

2nd round #29-32:
(From Indy for Ruud)
SS Chad Jones - LSU

3rd round #3:
CB Akwasi Owuhsu-Ansah - Indiana

4th round #3:
WR Taylor Price - Ohio

5th round #3:
DT Michael Neal - Purdue

....my fingers are crossed!

BucCaddy: Your contention that Tebow has a problem with accuracy is a fallacy, countered by his 70% completion percentage this past season and 67% completion percentage for his entire college career. His mechanics are an issue, but mechanics are not a hard thing for a QB to correct, especially one with the intangibles Tebow has that scouts very often discount. You may be right that it may take an order from up top, but I think it will happen, because Jacksonville needs a cash cow and Tebow is the one guy they can bring in that will sell out their stadium. It's a perfect storm that the Jaguars (and only the Jaguars) need to take the risk of getting caught up in.

2:13pm, January 23, 2010

JDouble

Tebow was an incredible college QB, one of the best ever. Unfortunetly, the game he played at Florida is not the same game they play in the NFL. He misewell have been an allstar soccer player or basketball champ...I just don't think what he did in Florida will translate to the NFL. I'd guess some team will take a chance on him in the late 2nd or 3rd round.

2:20pm, January 23, 2010

FLBoyInDallas

Tebow goes in the first round without a doubt, and I'm not a huge Tebow fan so my own feelings are not clouding my judgment. Mark it down. Done deal.

In a normal year we'd definitely trade up with the Rams and get Suh. However, this is not a normal year as the Glazers are very deep in debt and are having to sell off their best players at Man U to get enough cash just to barely stay afloat. There is no way they move up into the #1 spot and pay someone more than $30 million in guaranteed money. You can mark that down, as well.

We either take McCoy at #3 or we trade down for more picks and/or players. That's where my money is.

3:00pm, January 23, 2010

FLBoyInDallas

My bad, the guaranteed money for the #1 pick will likely exceed $40 million with a signing bonus exceeding $10 million. How many of you actually believe the Glazers would open their wallets to that tune? No way!

3:06pm, January 23, 2010

pinkstob

Hmmm, interesting. Some picks I agree with and some I don't, but that's what makes mock drafts fun. I'd love to land McCoy with the 3rd pick. I think Okung is overrated but if the Lions think they need a LT that bad, more power to them. I think everyone is letting Suh's radiance cast too large of a shadow on McCoy. If there was no Suh everyone would be begging for McCoy with the 3rd pick, not talking about trading down. I'd advise everyone not to let Suh's greatness cloud your assessment of McCoy.

I like the rest of the mock, except I think Spiller will go much higher (he should anyway) but the biggest surprise is Jason Pierre-Paul's ranking ahead of Jerry Hughes. I think Jason Pierre-Paul is the most overrated player in the draft with Taylor Mays being a close second. Jason Pierre-Paul has zero instincts against the run and always seems to be out of place. I think he's way WAY too raw to be in the 1st round, even as a pass rusher, but most of the other mocks I see have him somewhere in the 1st round also. He will soon be another bust in the same boat as Jamaal Anderson. G. Selvie is actually more polished.

Mock draft ... Here we go again ! I like the mock draft of JDouble even if I don't think we'll get rid of Ruud.
I would love to get Suh. unfortunately, as FLBoyInDallas said, Glazers are not going to spend this kind of big money ...
That said, I would prefer to trade down instead of picking at n°3. We can get a valuable player (Price, McClain, Haden ...)and add another 2nd round pick ...

4:08pm, January 23, 2010

JDouble

Shrine game wasn't so good. Some solid defensive plays though. I think Kam Chancellor just went from a 3rd to 5th round pick, to a solid 3rd round pick. Mike Teal got double teamed and shut down...but that's good cause that means we can probably still get him in a late round. I don't think I heard Stuckey's name called once today. That TE Quarless came on pretty strong at the end of the game...he looked pretty good.

Also, above I said Dunlap wouldn't go in the 1st....I was confused. For some reason I get Hardy and Dunlap mixed up quite often. Hardy is the guy that needed to have a good Shrine game and combine to stay in the 2nd round. He looked to have a great Shrine today....but I wouldn't draft him. Dunlap on the other hand is just to much of a freak to pass up. I'm sure someone will take him in the first round.

Was reading some things on Walter's football site, and I found some interesting info I thought I'd share. When looking at the top 3 picks of the draft since 1998, it has looked like this.....

QBs - 15
DEs - 6
OTs - 6
RBs - 2
OLB - 1
DT - 1

Also, in every year but 2000 there has been atleast one QB taken in the top 3. If Suh and McCoy end up really going top three, it will completely go against history. If the Rams pass on a QB it will also go against history. I'm not saying anything will or won't happen because of how things happend in the past...but I thought this was interesting.

6:44pm, January 23, 2010

JDouble

I was curious who that one single DT was that got drafted in the top 3 over the last 12 years, so I looked it up. It's funny cause it was in 2001 and the guy was Gaerard Warren. Warren was the considered the best DT by far that year and ended up being a complete bust for the Browns.

What was really interesting to me is that the Patriots took Richard Seymor at #6, the Jags got Marcus Stroud at #13, and the Steelers got Casey Hampton at #19. Just goes to show Suh could be a bust and McCoy, Price, and Dan Williams could go on to multible probowls. The draft really is half luck.

The first three selections I think will be dead on.

Who cares what the value of a pick is - if he turns into a pro-bowler. Trade down if able - but take McClain over McCoy. This draft is deep at DT.

The White Tiger

With the news that Detroit is making a play for Glenn Dorsey - and coupling jdouble's historic aspect that a QB has been taken in the top 3 in every year since 2000...still has me thinking Suh becomes a Buccaneer.

why do people keep saying its possible richard seymour leaves? oakland traded a 1st round pick for him, do you honestly think they will let him walk after one year? theres something called a franchise tag that teams are allowed to use...

The smart move is to trade down with Buffalo and get their 2nd round pick as well. The Bills need a QB and they should try and move ahead of the Redskins. With this pick they can take LB McClain, or DE Morgan or OT Davis. In the 2nd round they can take S Mays from USC and 3 other good players

I think Suh and McCoy go 1-2

Berry is going to be the guy

I like the first 3 picks..seems accurate to me. If the Lions are smart, the will try to address DT in FA\Trade and pick the OT.
Rams, if they are dead set on a QB, will trade back with us unless some other team pulls a Mike Ditka.

11:15am, January 25, 2010

CanadianBucFan

Jack - Please dont ever suggest Mays becoming a Buc... I get horrific flashes of double sabbys missed tackles and alot of lonnnnnnng plays on him.

Also, as much as i want him, i really dont think Rams will trade him. Teams with less needs will give the rams better offers. Walterfootball is pretty high on Clausen, but after him there is a huge dropoff in QB talent IMO. So unless the Rams are sold on him, or want to get Suh and not see playoffs, i dont think we get Suh.

It might not be all that bad tho, the Suh hype is really downplaying McCoy, and Price i think is right up there in terms of 3tech Dlineman.

Wishlist - #1 DT (Trading down and taking price allows us to address more needs, if we make some FA moves (fingers crossed) I think we stay put and take McCoy.)

#2 - Dont wast picks on McClain or Spikes - both are good linebackers but arent the best fits for our D and Ruud will play better is Wish#1 is met.

the rest... in no particular order

best graded WR in rd 2

Javier Arenas - CB 2nd-3rd - having him groom under Ronde is WAY to tempting for Morris to overlook, hopefully its tempting enough for him to pull the trigger!

Also i like the idea of Toby Gerhart - i know we have a lot of power backs, but i like the way this kid plays. Coaching staff has harped on getting bigger, more physical and more violent. Pass on McCluster and take Gerhart. We will wear teams DOWN! Also, with Caddy dropping some weight to pick up quickness and having a whole offseason to train instead of rehab i think he will be more explosive and gash some big runs. Also we have speed in Huggins who has better size then McCluster

For saftey, I want to see it addressed, but not in rd 1 at any cost. mid-late rd 2 rd 3 is preferable, there are just too many other needs to go with this one. On that note, I like what ive heard/seen from Kam Chancellor, at the very least he provides good competition/depth

7:39pm, January 25, 2010

CanadianBucFan

Also laughed at Tebow becoming a patriot. I think he becomes a Jag for sure. In what RD will depend on how badly he shows off his poor mechanics in the senior bowl.

I dont see the Giants taking Spiller at 15 either, I think someone trades up for him, just dont see the Giants needing a RB that badly... in fact... send them Ward back, he cleary can only produce when he has a top flite Oline to do his work for him.

TE at 22 in such a deep draft??? That one would suprise me also, but cant say i know much about the play TBH
