A graduate of the University of Chicago, Campbell was added to the Pewter Report staff to help report on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Campbell was an English major that graduated in 2003 while also studying at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
During his college years, Campbell wrote two novels. The first novel won the undergraduate writing award for fiction. Campbell studied under veteran novelists Richard Stern and Alan Jamieson. During college Campbell wrote for the student newspaper and wrote for the sports department of the Kenosha News, a newspaper in Kenosha, WI. He was also a writer for Carthage College's alumni magazine.
After graduation Campbell worked numerous jobs connected to media and sports. He was a production intern at the Jerry Springer Show. After surviving a season of taping there, Campbell went on to work in political talk radio and a political TV talk show called Beyond the Beltway.
While working in radio and TV, Campbell worked for agent Bryan Harlan at Harlan Sports Management. Harlan represents college and pro football coaches and broadcasters. Some of his clients include Urban Meyer, Dave Wannstedt, and Ron Riveria.
Campbell spent time working with the Chicago White Sox for the 2003 All-Star game. He interned at the Chicago Wolves, a minor league hockey team, in the game day operations and community relations departments. After working in Chicago for years, Campbell went to work for a hospital in Wisconsin, working in the administration department of the hospital.
Prior to coming to Pewter Report, Campbell was in Officer Candidates School for the United States Marine Corps. An injury in training knocked Campbell out of training and led him to Pewter Report.
Campbell has been a Pewter Report Insider for years. Through visiting family in Tampa, Campbell has followed the Buccaneers closely for years. He has traveled to many Bucs games, including the NFC Championship Game against the St. Rams in January 2000. He is very passionate about football, and strives to be an accurate, hard-working messenger for Pewter Report readers and subscribers.
Campbell was born in Chicago and spent his youth there and in Kenosha, WI. His father is a Plant High graduate and Campbell has spent parts of every year in Tampa with family. Outside of following the NFL, Campbell enjoys working out, baseball, paintball, reading, going to concerts, and spending time with family.
