    Tampa Bay head coach Jon Gruden held a press conference at One Buc Place on Monday morning to discuss the team's 13-10 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Gruden disclosed that Bucs strong safety Jermaine Phillips sustained a fractured forearm (different than the forearm injury he sustained earlier in the year) and is out for the season. Bucs weakside linebacker Derrick Brooks also suffered a rib injury on Sunday is is "very questionable" for the upcoming game vs. the San Diego Chargers. Gruden said Brooks' injury is "very concerning."

    Gruden said he would wait until Wednesday before determining which quarterback would start for the Bucs vs. the Chargers.

    PewterReport.com will have more on these stories throughout the day.

    So the injuries pile up. I wish Geno Hayes wouldn't have gotten injured I would love to see him there if someone was to fill in. Time for Black and Hayward to start. I hope it's definitely NOT Mccoy!

    we're screwed. the wheels on the bus are about to fall right off. I think we lose this game and miss the playoffs.

    Well.. 2 more injuries to defensive starters. Looks like Gruden is going to use the injury excuse. Well.. never fear, we are set with Brian Griese (Wasted roster spot), Carnell Williams (Wasted draft pick and roster spot), Jeremy Trueblood (Wasted draft pick and roster spot), Dexter Jackson (Wasted draft pick and roster spot), Michael Clayton (Wasted pick and spot) and the rest of the inept penalty loving offense.

    ^^ We have a winner for stupid post of the day award.  Everybody else can quit trying.

    I do hope that Luke starts this week.  We saw what Griese has to offer and right now it is not good enough.  His arm is not healthy enough to QB this team.  I wonder if he will even be able to throw this week.

    so what you're saying is yesterday sucked

    "there are no medals here for who can stay at the office the longest," said Jagodzinski. "I'm not into that. The guys that brag about working till 2 in the morning, in my opinion, they're just not smart enough. "

    Wonder who the Bucs will sign to the 53 when Flip goes to IR?

    If Brooks' injury is serious, might he ride off into the sunset along with Monte?

    Braden I am thinking they could bring up Moore to help the DTs.

    Good call.  I don't think he could be much worse than Sims has been

    If his conditioning is not up to par there is a possibility he may be worse.

    This is my reaction to the drafting of McCoy by the Bucs! \o/

    Worse than what?  Add him to the rotation to take some snaps away from the other guys.  He has been with the team and should have better conditioning now than earlier in the season.

    Bringing up Moore would also able our penny pinching GM to put some LTBE money in his contract  or the BA  special so many refer to,Which will give him even more money he won't use next year.

    Ahh yes R&R in 15 days!!!!

    Getting Haye abd Hovan back would greatly diminish the loss of Brooks if he cant go.  We will miss him if he cant play but at least with our two DTs back, there should be better gap control and we wont see those gaping holes in the run game

    Or it could be Bradford....the other DT. I think that is his name.

    Truths:
    1.  Never have an argument with an idiot.  They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
    2.  For some it would be better if they remained silent and be thought a fool than to speak and erase all doubt.

    Brooks doesnt miss games.   I think he'll still start, but wont play much.    SD could give us a lot of problems...   Fishman is right.   We could very well see a 9-3 team fall apart and not make the playoffs.   The wheels are off the bus and we're about to crash.

    1.  When you have first and goal on the 2 yard line (Carolina) and have FOUR plays to get a TD, and dont... then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    2.  When youre down by 3 points and you block a punt with 2 minutes left to play deep in your opponents territory, and you DONT get score a winning TD, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    3.  When your starting QB hurts his osteoperosis calf in PRACTICE and cant play in a HUGE Divisional game, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    4.  When last year's 1,000+ yard receiver (Galloway) gets hurt in TRAINING CAMP and can't play himself back onto the field, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    5.  When your defense doesnt control the middle of the field and gives up numerous running and passing plays in the same game, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    6.  When your head coach's own Ego gets in the way of making rational decisions on offense, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    7.  When a "professional" offensive lineman like Neanderthal Trueblood still has not figured out how to stay still until ball is snapped, and gets multiple false start penalties in crucial Divisional games..  then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    8.  If your general manager wastes a #2 draft pick on an unproven WR from Appalacian State that slides more often than Pete Rose, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs...

    9.  When your general manager thinks the year is 2002, and has every critical position on your football team (QB, WR, RB, CB, LB) filled with legacy 33-36 year old football players, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs.

    10.    If you have $30 million in salary cap room sitting in the owners bank account, rather than on the field, then you dont deserve to make the playoffs....

    OK, let the FloridaNative insults begin......

    When you have a bunch of annoying fans who throw in the towel at the first sign of adversity, then you don't deserve to make the playoffs.

    Yep.   That would be #11.   And I agree with you.  Its not that Im not proud of what the Bucs have accomplished, its HOW we lose games.   Even with a pathetic offense, we've still been in EVERY game we've played this year.  We seem to lose games on stupid stuff that is preventable.    Thats whats so frustrating.

    I didnt say we wanted to lose those games..  I said it wasnt a huge deal.   They were "expected losses" in the grand scheme of things.  Carolina's two hardest games of the season are their last two on the road...  meanwhile, the Bucs are done with our two hardest games...  it should work out in the end, unless Carolina really is that good of a team..    I dont think they are...   they're an 11-5 team, not a 13-3 team, and these last two games should prove that...

    lets take a look at Carolina's success on the road.  They have lost to EVERY .500 or better team this year.  Carolina's only real road win was against lousy Oakland who has a 3-11 record...  the other two wins (SD and GB) were over sub .500, and both of those games were won by a single, last second fluke play.

    I think Carolina is a fraud, they arent winning these last two games:

    @SD (6-8)  -  W  (Carolina should have lost this game)
    @Minn (9-5)  -  L
    @Tampa (9-5) -  L
    @Oakland (3-11)  - W
    @Atlanta (9-5) -  L
    @Green Bay (5-9) -  W  (Carolina should have lost this game)
    @ NY Giants (11-3) -  ?
    @ New Orleans (7-7)-  ?

    The question is...  can the Bucs do what they're supposed to, and win their last two home games.  Now isnt the time to fall apart.   In two weeks, the Bucs could be the #2 seed and Carolina could be HOME for the playoffs.  Nothing would please me more
