Bucs season ticket holders got to get a glimpse of the new uniforms on Friday night at Raymond James Stadium with Doug Martin, Gerald McCoy and Alterraun Verner modeling the new look in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization have had some shots fired at them after revealing photos of their new uniforms last month. Many complaints were directed the font of the numbers on the jersey and even the dark color of the pewter. Bucs co-chairman Ed Glazer, who spearheaded the two-year re-design, along with Nike, said that fans would like the uniforms when they finally saw them in person.
On Friday evening Tampa Bay hosted a preview of the new uniforms seen on players at Raymond James Stadium for season pass members. After seeing the uniforms for the first time live, the general reviews were mostly positive.
The event was a lavish affair with free drinks and food and had the feeling of a runway fashion show with running back Doug Martin, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and cornerback Alterraun Verner modeling the new-look uniforms for an enthusiastic crowd of Bucs fans.
Chants of Lovie, Lovie lasted for several seconds when the new Buccaneers coach was announced and introduced and long time play-by-play announcer Gene Deckerhoff was the master of ceremonies for the event.
