LAST SEASON: Houston finished the 2003 regular season with a 5-11 record and in last place in the AFC South Division. The Texans went 3-5 at home last season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went 7-9 in 2003 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 1998. The Bucs were 4-4 on the road during the '03 regular season.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO TEAMS MET: Tampa Bay and Houston met twice last season, once in the preseason and one time in the regular season. The first game took place in the 2003 preseason finale. That game was played in Tampa Bay and the Bucs beat the Houston Texans, 34-3. These two teams met again on Dec. 14 in Tampa. The Bucs defeated the Texans again, 16-3.
