The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trimmed their roster down from 72 players to the NFL-mandated amount of 53 players on Sunday.

"It will be tough to not keep some players who may have earned their opportunities to be here, but that's the case every year I have been a coach and on every team I've been on," said Bucs head coach Jon Gruden. "It's just a very difficult part of the process this time of year."

PewterReport.com has included the list of final roster cuts and moves below:

Released:
WR Danny Farmer
RB Brandon Bennett
C Ben Claxton
LB Dustin Cohen
DT Oliver Gibson
RB Earnest Graham
LB Michael Brown
DB Will Hunter
C Scott Jackson
WR/KR Mark Jones
C Austin King
WR Marcus Knight
S Kalvin Pearson
DT Cleveland Pinkney
DE Corey Smith
CB Ronyell Whitaker

In addition to those roster moves, the Bucs placed guard Kerry Jenkins (neck) on injured reserve. The team also placed wide receiver Joe Jurevicius on the reserve/non-football injury list, which means he cannot be activated until after the sixth game of the regular season.

Running back Michael Pittman began his three-game suspension Sunday and will not account for a 53-man roster spot until he returns. Wide receiver Keenan McCardell doesn't account for an active roster spot while he remains a holdout.

In related news, the Bucs are expected to sign defensive end Isaac Hilton to their eight-man practice squad. The Bucs could also pursue wide receiver/punt returner and seventh-round draft pick Mark Jones as well as running back Earnest Graham, both of whom were released on Sunday.
