Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Martin Gramatica is this week's PewterReport.com Pewter Player of the Game after going 2-of-2 on his field goal attempts against Jacksonville, both of which were from beyond 40 yards. Gramatica is now 4-of-5 (80 percent) on field goals through two preseason games.

There were few positives in the uninspiring play of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday night in Jacksonville as the team lost to the Jaguars, 14-6, but kicker Martin Gramatica did make both of his field goal attempts - both from beyond 40 yards. That effort gives Gramatica the honors of being PewterReport.com's Pewter Player of the Game.

Gramatica's first field goal was from 43 yards out. His second successful kick was from 44 yards. Perhaps his only flaw of the evening was failing to come through with a successful onsides kick in the fourth quarter after his second field goal.

Gramatica is now 4-of-5 in the preseason (80 percent) thanks to going 2-of-3 last Monday in the preseason opener against Cincinnati. The Bucs kicker, who now sports jersey number 10, connected from 20 and 46 yards out before hooking a 43-yard attempt wide left against the Bengals.

While it is too early to pronounce the successful return of "Automatica," Gramatica has had a nice start to the 2004 preseason.
