Pittsburgh Steelers free agent quarterback Byron Leftwich is scheduled to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Leftwich, 29, originally entered the league as a first-round pick with Jacksonville in 2003.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the market for a fourth quarterback, and they might address their need at that position before the 2009 NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers free agent quarterback Byron Leftwich is scheduled to visit One Buc Place on Thursday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Leftwich, 29, has completed 58.6 percent of his passes for 9,624 yards and tossed 54 touchdowns and 38 interceptions since entering the league as a first-round draft pick out of Marshall in 2003.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Leftwich, who has also rushed for nine touchdowns, began his career with Jacksonville, but has spent the past two seasons with Atlanta and Pittsburgh, respectively. He has started a total of 46 games during his NFL career.

The Bucs currently have three quarterbacks - Luke McCown, Josh Johnson and Brian Griese - under contract for the 2009 season. Head coach Raheem Morris has stated that the team wants to add a fourth quarterback to its roster before training camp begins in July.

Tampa Bay will reportedly work out Kansas State QB Josh Freeman next week. He is a player the Bucs could be targeting with the 19th overall selection in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
