Buccaneers linebacker Geno Hayes returned to practice on Wednesday after missing Tuesday's session due to a hamstring strain. Also returning to practice was center Sean Mahan and tight end Kellen Winslow. Running back Clifton Smith was doing some light practicing without shoulder pads while the rest of the team was in shells (shoulder pads, jerseys, helmets and shorts).

The following Buccaneers did not participate in Wednesday's practice: defensive tackle Greg Peterson (knee), center Jeff Faine (groin), kicker Matt Bryant (hamstring), tight end Jerramy Stevens (undisclosed) and wide receivers Joel Filani (hamstring, Kelly Campbell (quad), Michael Clayton (hamstring) and Antonio Bryant (knee).
