It's Game Time! Bucs-Titans Preview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will clash with the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 of the 2009 preseason on Saturday night. What happened the last time these two teams met? How did the Titans fare last season? Pewter Report has a preview of Saturday night's Bucs-Titans exhibition game.

LAST SEASON: The Tennessee Titans had the best record of any team during the 2008 regular season, going 13-3 and winning the AFC South division. However, the Titans were eliminated by the Pittsburgh Steelers in a post-season home game. Pittsburgh went on to win the Super Bowl.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers produced a 9-7 regular season record. The team's December collapse resulted in the dismissal of head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen, and the promotion of Raheem Morris and Mark Dominik to head coach and G.M., respectively.

THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET: The Bucs and Titans last met during the 2007 regular season. Tampa Bay defended its home turf by defeating Tennessee in that contest, 13-10.

BUCS-TITANS SERIES: The Bucs are 6-1 all-time in the preseason vs. the Tennessee Titans, formerly known as the Houston Oilers. The Bucs have compiled a 2-1 record vs. the Titans on the road in the preseason.
