The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will clash with the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 of the 2009 preseason on Thursday night. What happened the last time these two teams met? How did the Dolphins fare last season? Pewter Report has a preview of Thursday night's Bucs-Dolphins exhibition game.

MATCHUP: Miami Dolphins (2-0) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1)

WHERE: Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida

WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 26, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. ET


TV ANNOUNCERS: Joe Buck and Troy Aikman

RADIO: US 103.5, flagship station (103.5 FM, 620 AM)

RADIO ANNOUNCERS: Gene Deckerhoff and Dave Moore

LAST SEASON: The Miami Dolphins rebounded from a 1-15 season in 2007 to go 11-5 and win the AFC East division in 2008. The Dolphins were eliminated by the Ravens in the first round of the playoffs.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers produced a 9-7 regular season record. The team's December collapse resulted in the dismissal of head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen, and the promotion of Raheem Morris and Mark Dominik to head coach and G.M., respectively.

THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET: The Bucs and Dolphins last meeting in the preseason came on Aug. 8, 2008. Tampa Bay defeated Miami in that contest, 17-6. The Bucs hosted the Dolphins in the 2005 regular season. Tampa Bay also won that game, downing Miami 27-13.

BUCS-DOLPHINS SERIES: The Bucs are 9-14 all-time in the preseason vs. the Miami Dolphins. The Bucs have compiled a 4-9 record vs. the Dolphins at home in the preseason.
