The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a head start on their first round of roster cuts Saturday, releasing DE Jarriett Buie, DB DeAngelo Willingham and G Julius Wilson. In addition, Tampa Bay waived injured WR Kelly Campbell. The Bucs must release one more player by Sept. 1 in order to trim their roster to 75. Head coach Raheem Morris said there will be one player released in the coming days.

“We released d-end Jarriett Biue, DeAngelo Willingham, and guard Julius Wilson. Waived Kelly Campbell injured, so we got one more roster spot we have to make by Tuesday,” said Morris. “We’ll try to figure that out as we go. We don’t have to make that decision until Tuesday, but it is good for your team to always feel like that, a little bit of an edge, a little bit of an edge. We talked about that 53rd man being important, they know we mean it, I’m going to make these guys work for it and earn it.”

All NFL teams are required to trim their rosters to 53 players by Sept. 5.

In other news, the Bucs welcomed back to practice safety Will Allen. He was out since the first preseason game with a shoulder injury. Allen is in the starting mix for the first four games at the free safety position. Normal starter Tanard Jackson is suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Not practicing due to injury on Saturday are the following Buccaneers: wide receiver Antonio Bryant (knee), wide receiver Michael Clayton (hamstring), kicker Matt Bryant (hamstring), linebacker Adam Hayward (ankle), wide receiver Dexter Jackson (ankle) and safety Donte Nicholson (quad).
