PewterReport.com is reporting Bucs center Jeff Faine (torn triceps) will miss the upcoming game vs. the New York Giants. He did not play against Buffalo. Sean Mahan likely will start in Faine's place.

In other injury news, Bucs starting safety Jermaine Phillips sustained a broken thumb in Tampa Bay's 33-20 loss to Buffalo on Sunday. Bucs head coach Raheem Morris said Monday that the team is "really concerned" about Phillips' injury, which will be re-evaluated by the team doctors and trainers later today.

Phillips, who has had an injury-plagued career, was moved from linebacker to safety due to S Tanard Jackson's four-game suspension for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Should Phillips be sidelined for several weeks or the season, Will Allen will start in his place.

Bucs wide receiver Antonio Bryant missed Sunday's game and his status still is in question for the upcoming game vs. the Giants.

PewterReport.com will have more on this story throughout the day.
