It was clear based on its 86 yards of total offense against the New York Giants that the Buccaneers offense would fall from its lofty fourth overall spot in the NFL rankings and that's exactly what happened. Due to the third-worst offensive performance in team history in Tampa Bay's 24-0 loss to New York, which dropped the team to 0-3 on the season, the Bucs offense is now ranked 26th in the NFL, averaging 296.3 yards per game.

Tampa Bay's running game, which started off red hot with 174 yards on the ground versus Dallas in the season opener has cooled off and now ranks 25th, averaging 86.3 yards per game. The team's passing game ranks 17th, averaging 210 yards per contest.

The Bucs defense actually improved in the rankings, due to the fact that the Giants were held under 400 yards of offense – just barely. New York produced only 397 yards at Raymond James Stadium, which allowed Tampa Bay's defensive ranking to rise from 31st to 30th, allowing an average of 432.3 yards per game. Only Dallas (32nd) and Houston (31st) are allowing more yards per game than Tampa Bay is.

The Bucs run defense, which is allowing 187.3 yards per game, ranks 31st in the league, while the pass defense is ranked 21st, allowing 245 yards per game.
