Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman and right tackle Jeremy Trueblood discussed playing to save the jobs of their coaches and staff in the front office. Both players said that the job security of the Bucs staff is not something that the players think about or discuss much.
"They are our coaches and general manager we are going to play as hard as we can for them," Freeman said. "That is not really something that anybody thinks about. We just think about going out and playing the best game of football we can."
Trueblood does not see saving the jobs of the coaches or staff as an extra source of motivation for the players.
"I'm sure it can't do anything but help," Trueblood said. "We want to win every game. There is not any more motivation to keep anyone's job. We want to win because we are prideful guys. We don't want to lose because we are competitors."
