On Tuesday, the National Football League announced the AFC and NFC rosters for the 2010 Pro Bowl, which will be played in Dolphin Stadium in Miami on Sunday, Jan. 31 one week before Super Bowl XLIV is played.
Unfortunately for Bucs first-year head coach Raheem Morris, none of his players were voted to the NFL's all-star game. The last time no Buccaneer player was voted to the Pro Bowl was 1995.
While a few players might have received some consideration from coaches, players and fans around the NFL, including tight end Kellen Winslow, left tackle Donald Penn, cornerbacks Ronde Barber and Aqib Talib and safety Tanard Jackson, the fact that Tampa Bay was shut out of the Pro Bowl likely stems from the Bucs' disappointing season.
The Bucs currently own a 3-12 record and rank 26th overall in the NFL in total offense and defense.
Bucs guard Davin Joseph, who made the Pro Bowl as an alternate last year, was reportedly named an alternate for the 2010 Pro Bowl, which means he'll play in Miami if an injury occurs to another guard already voted to the all-star game.
The 2010 Pro Bowl in Miami will be televised on ESPN. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 31.
