Tampa Bay rookie wide receiver Paris Warren scored his first touchdown of the preseason in dramatic fashion against Jacksonville in the Buccaneers' 20-17 loss to the Jaguars. Warren's 45-yard score with 4:46 left in regulation pulled the Bucs to within a field goal. For his efforts, Warren is this week's PewterReport.com Most Valuable Player.

Although he made just one catch in Tampa Bay's 20-17 loss to Jacksonville, rookie wide receiver Paris Warren made it count. On second-and-20 from the Jacksonville 45, Warren ran a deep seam route across the field and took a Luke McCown pass down the right sidelines for a touchdown that helped bring the Bucs within three points with 4:46 remaining in the game. Warren's 45-yard score makes him PewterReport.com's Most Valuable Player.

Warren, one of the Bucs' seventh-round picks this year, showed tremendous body control as he walked the tight rope down the right sidelines after picking up a great block from rookie tight end Alex Smith.

With Michael Clayton, Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard entrenched at the first three wide receiver positions, and Edell Shepherd the current favorite to claim the fourth receiver spot, Tampa Bay head coach Jon Gruden claimed that Warren is the front-runner for the fifth position on the depth chart.

"I like Paris," Gruden said. "He's a young guy who has stepped up now, physically after the catch and as an overall offensive player he has a chance. He's good on special teams. He's got something about him on game day. He just lights up on game day and makes plays, much like he did for Urban Meyer down at Utah. We're excited about him and proud of him.

"You've got to say Paris Warren is pounding on our door."
