A new day has brought new rumors regarding the 2010 NFL Draft as it relates to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who own the third overall pick in the draft behind the St. Louis Rams and Detroit Lions, and in front of the Washington Redskins.
The latest rumor/report suggests the the top four teams in the 2010 NFL Draft have had conversations about trying to trade down in order to acquire more picks and/or players. This comes just days after another report suggested the Bucs had talked about possibly trading up with the St. Louis Rams in the draft.
The problem is finding someone who will be willing to trade up. With this year's talent pool believed to be as deep as ever, teams will be less willing to give up multiple picks than in the past. And with a rookie wage scale not yet implemented, the teams who pick in the top five or so this year will have the privilege of likely being the last to cough up gigantic contracts for unproven players.

PewterReport.com's Take: We tend to believe there is more validity to this report than the one from a few days ago that suggested the Bucs were attempting to trade up with the St. Louis Rams in order to acquire the number one overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Tampa Bay produced a 3-13 season last year, which was its worst since 1991. The Bucs need to acquire players in this year's draft that can start -- or at least make an immediate impact -- right away for head coach Raheem Morris' club. Another reason why the Bucs would want to trade out of the third overall spot in the draft is if defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy are off the board. Tampa Bay might not jump at the opportunity to draft safety Eric Berry, as many have suggested. If the Bucs can find a trading partner -- and that's a big if -- then we wouldn't be surprised at all to see Tampa Bay trade down in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
