Now that the NFL Combine has concluded, some new mock drafts are surfacing. It's probably no surprise that many of the mock drafts have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy with the third overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

The Bucs have returned to the Monte Kiffin style 4-3 defense, and McCoy can do many of the things Warren Sapp did back in the glory days of Tampa's defense.

PewterReport.com's Take: Kirwan isn't the only draft pundit that has the Bucs taking McCoy with the third pick in April's draft. WalterFootball.com also has Tampa Bay selecting McCoy in its four-round mock draft. The projection of McCoy to the Bucs is a popular one since many believe the St. Louis Rams will take Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford and Detroit will draft Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh with the first and second overall picks, respectively. Tampa Bay is hoping Suh somehow slips to the third spot because the team isn't likely to trade up in the first round, which would mean the Rams taking Bradford and the Lions drafting Oklahoma State offensive tackle Russell Okung. The worst case scenario is if both Suh and McCoy are off the board when the Bucs pick since defensive tackle is such a pressing need for Tampa Bay. If that scenario unfolded, the Bucs likely would try to trade out of the third spot, which would be tough to do.
