It's no secret that Tampa Bay is in the market for at least one veteran wide receiver after opting to part ways with Antonio Bryant. However, what Bucs fans are attempting to figure out is which free agent wide receivers the team is targeting. One name surfaced shortly after the free agent signing period began at midnight.
Tampa Bay is among several teams interested in Houston Texans free agent Kevin Walter. The Ravens, Bears, Patriots and Jaguars also are believed to have targeted the 6-3, 218-pound receiver.

PewterReport.com's Take: Walter is a player PewterReport.com knew the Bucs liked and likely would target, so this is not a surprise. In addition to having good size, Walter is only 28 and has 225 career catches for 2,766 yards and 15 touchdowns. While he's been productive as a starter with Houston, one has to wonder how Walter would fare without WR Andre Johnson, who is the Texans' No. 1 target and commands a lot of double teams that free up Walter on passing plays. But no matter how you answer that question, there's no disputing the fact that Walter is one of the best receivers available in free agency this year.
