The Detroit Lions have been active in free agency, and continued to add to their roster by signing former Buccaneers wide receiver Brian Clark on Tuesday. The Lions also re-signed former Bucs tight end Will Heller, and cut former Buccaneers defensive end Dewayne White.

The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Clark played for Tampa Bay for the past two seasons and caught seven passes for 77 yards. Clark was scheduled to become a restricted free agent, but the Bucs opted not to tender him a contract, which allowed Clark to become an unrestricted free agent.

In 14 games in 2009, Clark, a former undrafted free agent, had six receptions for 65 yards. He was a core special teams player for Tampa Bay. Clark finished fifth on the team with 13 tackles on special teams. In 2008 Clark recorded eight special teams tackles. That season he returned three kicks for 54 yards (18 yard average).

Clark, 26, blocked a punt at Atlanta in Week 15 of the 2008 season. That blocked punt allowed the Bucs to tie the game and send it to overtime after being unable to score a touchdown for the win.

In other news, Bucs free agent WR Antonio Bryant has visited Cincinnati and is scheduled to visit the Washington Redskins, according to the Tampa Tribune. The Bucs have already stated that Bryant will not return to Tampa Bay.

Several agents from around the NFL have suggested to PewterReport.com that the Bucs remain inactive for the most part in terms of free agency, which began Friday morning. Tampa Bay likely will target some players in the second or third waves of free agency.

Tampa Bay's focus is the 2010 NFL Draft. The Bucs own 10 picks, including five in the top 99 selections. A report surfaced on Tuesday that had the Bucs scheduled to visit with Florida Gators middle linebacker Brandon Spikes.
