Like every other NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are allowed to bring in a maximum of 30 pro prospects for pre-draft visits each year. While PewterReport.com is in the process of attempting to identify all 30 players scheduled to visit Tampa Bay, a few names have already leaked out through other media outlets and agents. That includes former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant and UCLA defensive tackle Brian Price.

I posted an Internet story after Dez Bryant's workout and have a separate story in tomorrow's paper. Bryant will have dinner with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Wednesday night and then will visit Valley Ranch on Thursday. He also has visits scheduled to Cincinnati and Tampa Bay. Denver and San Francisco also could be on his itinerary.

Bryant ran times of 4.53, 4.68 (against the wind) and 4.58. He was more impressive in position drills, with former OSU quarterback Bobby Reid throwing him passes. (Bryant also forgot his broken-in cleats and had to wear new ones, which didn't help him in running the 40 or in doing the three-cone or short-shuttle drills.)

UCLA defensive tackle and first-round draft prospect Brian Price is scheduled to visit with San Diego on Thursday, according to a source close to the program with knowledge of the situation.

Price is also scheduled to visit the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Price has impresssed NFL scouts with his aggressiveness, quickness and ability to penetrate the backfield.

The 20-year-old defensive lineman was 6-foot-1, 301 pounds at his Pro Day workout, which was heavily attended.

PewterReport.com's Take: Fans have to take pre-draft visits with a grain of salt. Sometimes they are smokescreens, but the visits are usually used by teams to get to know a player even better and learn more aboutt that player or follow up on questions asked at the Senior Bowl, combine and/or pro day workouts. Bryant is a perfect example of why the Bucs are smart to do their homework on pro prospects. Although extremely talented and likely faster than his 40-yard dash time suggests, Bryant has some maturity issues and was suspended for most of the 2009 season by the NCAA. The Bucs are in the market for a starting-caliber receiver, but there is some risk involved with Bryant, who could still be a first-round pick, but has seen his draft stock drop in recent weeks. Price's visit shouldn't come as a surprise, either. The Bucs are in the market for a defensive tackle, and he could be an option should Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy not make it to Tampa Bay, which owns the third overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. However, Price doesn't share the some character concerns that Bryant has had in the past.
