The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to visit with former Chicago Bears defensive end Alex Brown on Thursday, according to ESPN. Brown is visiting the New Orleans Saints today.
Brown, 30, notched 372 tackles, 43.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, 36 passes defensed and five interceptions in eight seasons with the Bears before being released after the team signed DE Julius Peppers earlier this offseason.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Brown recorded six sacks in 16 starts in 2009. He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. Brown could see real appeal in playing for Tampa Bay since he played collegiately at Florida and the Bucs still have a need for a defensive since Jimmy Wilkerson remains on the free agent market.
