The Buccaneers have been in need of a dominant defensive tackle for a long time. Last season's starters, Chris Hovan and Ryan Sims, combined for just 1.5 sacks. The Bucs need a consistent pass rusher that can also help improve their 32nd ranked run defense.

Tampa Bay picks third overall in the upcoming 2010 NFL Draft. This puts the team in position to have a chance to select one of the top defensive tackle prospects, Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy. These two players are also considered the best two prospects in the draft by many scouts and are both projected to be off the board within the top six picks.

The Bucs have taken the next step towards drafting one of the two highly touted prospects, as they will be bringing both in for pre-draft visits just a week before the draft. Oklahoma's McCoy will be visiting the Bucs on Sunday, April 11th. Shortly after, Nebraska's Suh will be in town to visit the Bucs on Tuesday, April 13th.

Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy will arrive in Tampa on Sunday to visit with Morris and the coaching staff, according to Ben Dogra, his agent. McCoy will leave on Monday.

Suh is slated to visit Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

PewterReports.com Take: It should come to no surprise that the Bucs will be visitng with both Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy. Both are regarded as the two of the best defensive players in the draft and would fill one of the team's biggest needs. Luckily, the Bucs are in a great position to draft one of the two. Most draft experts expect the St. Louis Rams to select Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the first selection the in the draft. The pick that will most likely decide who Tampa Bay selects will be the Detroit Lions' second overall pick. If the Lions select Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy would likely be the pick. But if the Lions decide to upgrade their offensive line and give better protection to last year's first overall pick, quarterback Matthew Stafford, by selecting Oklahoma State's Russell Okung, the Bucs would then have the option of either Suh or McCoy. Either of the two would be an immediate upgrade at the defensive tackle position.
