According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Buccaneers are shopping defensive tackle Ryan Sims. Sims, 29, was a former first-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2002. The Bucs acquired Sims through a trade with the Chiefs in 2007 and last offseason, the team re-signed him to a four-year, $8 million contract. Sims started on the defensive line for Tampa Bay in 2009.

PewterReport's Take: After the Bucs drafted Gerald McCoy with the third-overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and selected Brian Price with the 35th pick in the second round, both Chris Hovan and Ryan Sims became expendable. The Bucs have six defensive tackles on the roster including McCoy, Price, Roy Miller, Chris Hovan, Ryan Sims, and Dre Moore. Veteran starters Hovan and Sims are both candidates to be released or traded. McCoy, Price, and Miller are expected to be the top three defensive tackles next season.
