Several current and former Buccaneers will be on hand on Saturday, May 15 to help raise money for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation at the (Marriot) Vinoy Renaissance Hotel and Resort in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Tampa Bay middle linebacker Barrett Ruud, defensive end Stylez G. White and guard Jeremy Zuttah and former former Bucs Ian Beckles, Dave Moore, Shaun King, Jerry Wunsch, Yo Murphy and Charley Hannah will join other Tampa area sports icons, such as Fred McGriff and Freddie Solomon to assist in the fundraising efforts that support the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.
This foundation, which was founded by a number of U.S. Army and West Point veterans along with Holly Petraeus, the wife of General David Petraeus, raises money that will go to provide scholarships for the children of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The event at the Vinoy Renaissance Hotel will be the first-ever fundraiser held in Florida and will feature Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Jack Jacobs as the host and a rare public appearance by Mrs. Petraeus, in addition to several NFL, MLB and NHL players.
Also in attendance that evening will be 4-8 American servicemen wounded in action in Iraq and Afghanistan, who are patients at the Haley Hospital VA trauma center in Tampa. The “business causal” attire event in St. Petersburg runs from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
