The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed DE Carlton Powell. Powell was a fifth-round pick by the Denver Broncos out of Virginia Tech in 2008. To make room for Powell Tampa Bay released cornerback Darrell Pasco.

Powell has bounced on and off the Broncos roster and practice squad over the past two seasons. Powell was on the physically unable to perform list in 2008 with Denver after sustaining a knee injury. Last season he was on the Browns practice squad as well.

In college Powell had 90 tackles with 6.5 sacks, 15 tackles for a loss. He was listed at 6-foot-3, 300-pounds at the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine.
