A week after leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers former director of pro personnel Doug Williams is weighing offers from the Washington Redskins and the UFL according to a report on ProFootballTalk.com that quotes UFL commissioner Michael Huyghue.

"Yes, it is true that we are interested in Doug," Huyghue told George on Tuesday afternoon. "I think I was one of the first people in the NFL back in 1995 to hire Doug in Jacksonville [as a scout]. And I think he has been overlooked at times when NFL executive jobs have opened. He is a great example of a great player who after his playing career continued to embody talent, character and stayed current in football. Players feed off of him. If you can get Doug Williams, in any franchise, your franchise will be better. And if we have the opportunity to bring him in, that is an opportunity that we will make happen."

PewterReport.com's Take: The Bucs mutually parted ways with Williams, and it appears to be a good move for both parties. Bucs general manager Mark Dominik can now pick his own person for his former post, and Williams can have skills better applied in Washington or the UFL.
