The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they have signed punter Brent Bowden to a four-year contract and released wide receiver Mark Bradley. Bowden, the team's sixth-round draft pick in 2010 (172 overall), is the only punter on the roster and will be the starter this season.
In college Bowden punted 214 times for 9,022 yards. His career net average was 36.4 with a gross average of 42.2. He downed 72 punts inside the 20-yard line and had 28 touchbacks.
Bradley originally joined the Bucs after being claimed off waivers from Kansas City on December 23, 2009. He was previously a second-round pick of Chicago.
Bowden is the third Bucs draft pick to have signed his rookie contract. Fourth-round pick wide receiver Mike Williams and third-round pick Myron Lewis both signed their contracts. Tampa Bay has six rookies remaining to sign: defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, defensive tackle Brian Price, wide receiver Arrelious Benn, linebacker Dekoda Watson, safety Cody Grimm, and defensive end Erik Lorig.
