PewterReport.com would like to issue a correction. A week ago and earlier this week Pewter Report wrote that Buccaneers left tackle Donald Penn was subject to fines for missing mandatory team practices because he was tendered a contract. Pewter Report was told this in a media huddle, and after double-checking with the Buccaneers we were told that was accurate.

"Anybody who does not show up to mandatory mini-camp is subject to fines, even Donald if he hasn't signed his tender," said general manager Mark Dominik on June 10th.

Since then Pewter Report has learned from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization that Penn is not subject to fines until he signs his contract. Because Penn has not signed his one-year tender contract he is not subject to fines for holding out of mandatory mini-camp, training camp, or the regular season. Penn can hold out until after Week 10. He must play in six games under a pro-rated tender amount in order to earn another year of experience. Penn, who is expected to be at FanFest on Saturday at Raymond James Stadium, will not be fined for any missed team activity or practice until after he signs his tender contract.
