Buccaneers right tackle Jeremy Trueblood has denied part of the story that led to his being detained by police on Tuesday night. The Hancock County, IN police department claim Trueblood was detained for public intoxication after he was allegedly drunk in a gas station, and refused to cooperate with police during a traffic stop where he was a passenger.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers right tackle Jeremy Trueblood said today he was not involved in the incident that sparked a traffic stop that led to him being held for 13 hours in an Indiana jail Tuesday night.

"Oddly enough, I never stepped in a gas station, or out of my passenger seat till they made me,'' Trueblood said in a text message sent to The Tribune this afternoon.

PewterReport.com's Take: It sounds like the police were potentially overly aggressive towards Trueblood. If they didn't charge him with a crime it makes one wonder why he was detained in the first place. Trueblood has never had off the field issues in college or as a pro, and he has always seemed like a quality guy.
