Hello Bucs fans and PewterReport.com visitors. Welcome to my Training Camp Diary on PewterReport.com. I plan on letting you all know how I really feel about training camp in this diary and give you some insight into what goes on at camp from a veteran’s perspective. I plan on keeping it interesting.

What I actually like about training camp is that it is a prelude to the season. It means that the season is not far away and that’s exciting.

What I dread about training camp … is training camp itself! I’m not a big fan of training camp, but it’s a necessary evil. However, I am looking forward to seeing what the rookies can do.

Of course our whole team is practically rookies, but I want to see what they’ve got when the pads come on. I am excited about building some camaraderie with Gerald McCoy and Roy Miller and see what we can do pass rushing – because we are going to be doing a lot of that this year.

My personal goal this year is becoming one of the elite defensive ends in the league. I’ve been to training camps where I’ve tried to make the team and stay on the team. Now I want to be one of the better players on the team. That’s where I want to head right now. My team will win if I get some personal accolades going in terms of sacks and big plays.

I’m heading into camp knowing that I’ve earned the starting right defensive end spot and that’s the role I plan to keep. I’m shooting for the best there is at my spot – and that’s NFL Defensive Player of the Year. That’s my goal. I not only want to do that and make the Pro Bowl, but I want to lead the league in sacks. If I do these things, we should win a lot of games.

There is a lot of pressure on me this year as the veteran starter on the defensive line, but I’m not going to shy away from it. I’m going to embrace it. This is an opportunity for me to become a more productive player, a better teammate and a better leader. This situation is like utopia for me, honestly. I’m excited about the possibilities for us, and the responsibility that the coaches are going to give me.

When we make the playoffs it won’t be a surprise to us. It will be a surprise to you, the fans, and to PewterReport.com and the rest of the media experts. We come to One Buc Place with the attitude of “All we’ve got is us.” We plan on playing hard and winning games one-by-one. I know that sounds cliché but you can’t make the playoffs until you win your first game. For us last year it was way too long.

I want to win the season opener this year. I want to tally up wins. Going to the playoffs isn’t even a point for us to discuss right now. I want to win the first preseason game. That’s where I’m at right now. I want to win our first game and then the next one and once we get enough wins, then I’ll talk about playoffs.

My goal for us is to win more than three games this year. Actually, it’s to win more than seven games. That’s my goal. I don’t want to have a losing season.

As excited as I am to see some of the rookies play, I’m even more excited to see Kyle Moore and Roy Miller. Last year they were a little heavier trying to fit into our old, big system. I want to see what they look like lighter and see what they can do. I feel like there is going to be a whole lot of speed this year on our D-line. I’m going to have to try to keep up with the younger players.

I’ve been eating right for the most part. I’ve been eating better than I did last year. I’ve lost some body fat. Believe it or not, this offseason I haven’t done any lifting at all. I’ve just been doing calisthenics, running, jumping, hurdling and push-ups. I’m not doing any weights because at this point in my career I didn’t need to add any more size. I just need to get quicker. That’s what I’m trying to do and hopefully it will pay off.

I’m also doing some gymnastics here and there. Gymnastics is my second love. I’m doing that to help me with my body control up in the air. I don’t plan on being up in the air too much … but just in case! You never know! I might have a back flip for you fans this year if I score a touchdown as long as I don’t have to run far.

I invite you to check out the Stylez G. White Training Camp Diary this month on PewterReport.com. We’ve got 20 or so diary entries lined up. I’ll give you the insight on Bucs training camp from a veteran’s perspective, if you do something for me.

Please check out The Better Us Foundation, which is my personal charitable foundation. Our mission statement is “A Better Us For A Better Tomorrow.” I wanted to call it The Greg White Foundation when I first started it, but I realized I wasn’t going to get everything I wanted done by myself. With The Better Us Foundation, all of us can come together to help out. If you want to get involved, let me know.

The Better Us Foundation is focused on inner city kids because I was an inner city kid. It focuses on reading development. I want it to be synonymous with my work with the Boys & Girls Club. You can find out more about it by clicking here on my official website, JustStylez.com.

On my JustStylez.com site, you can get updated on my appearances and where I’m going to be at for the most part. I have some picture updates and some fundraising updates up there.

My Twitter page is actually updated by me. I’m not having anyone else do my Twitter updates. I throw things out there on Twitter and even invited people to my birthday shindig last Sunday. I keep it updated pretty regularly and let people know which clubs I’m going to be at in the offseason and how I’m feeling about things during the season.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Facebook. I like interacting with the fans about stuff other than football, too. You can’t ask me a question that you know you are going to get the answer to. If someone comes up to me and says, “How do you think you are going to do this year?” I’m not going to say we are going to be bad! If you want to have a real conversation, I’m all in.

Time to go camping!
