The sudden and stunning release of Tampa Bay icon Derrick Brooks on February 25, 2009 sent shockwaves through the Bucs fan base and left plenty of fans bitter at the team for cutting the legendary linebacker. After his retirement ceremony at One Buc Place, Brooks asked Bucs fans to forgive the franchise.
