Lorig was a seventh-round pick by the Buccaneers in the 2010 NFL Draft. Lorig had four tackles in the preseason. He was inactive for the Bucs' season opener against Cleveland. Due to having a draft pick invested in him, it would not be surprising to see the Bucs sign Lorig to the practice squad.
Carter was an All-Big 12 selection in 2009 for Texas Tech. He was an undrafted free agent that signed the New Orleans Saints. He was on the Saints' practice squad last week, but was released.
Last August, Talib was arrested after assaulting a cab driver following a celebration with some teammates. That was the third incident that Talib had been involved in since joining the Bucs in 2008. Talib and the cab driver settled the dispute out of court.
Talib, 24, is expected to be at practice on Wednesday and will start against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The Bucs selected the Kansas product in the first round (No. 20 overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. In his two seasons with Tampa Bay, Talib has nine interceptions and 27 passes defensed.
E.J. Biggers, who started in place of Talib in the opener against Cleveland, will be the starting nickel cornerback.
