Tampa Bay kicker Matt Bryant is quickly making Buccaneers fans (and even the Buccaneers themselves) forget about Martin Gramatica, whose 60 percent field goal percentage over the past two seasons cost the Pewter Pirates several games. Bryant was a bright spot in Tampa Bay's 14-12 loss to the New York Jets by making 4-of-4 field goals and accounting for all of the Buccaneers' points.
His experience kicking in the Meadowlands with the New York Giants (2002-03) helped him navigate the swirling winds inside the stadium to connect on field goals of 35, 36, 43 and 30 yards in Tampa Bay's first loss of the season. Unfortunately, Bryant did not get the opportunity to attempt a fifth field goal - a potential game-winner - as the Bucs' final drive ended at the Jets' 34 as time expired.
Bryant entered Sunday's game at New York making 4-of-5 field goals (80 percent) on the season. He left the game by upping his field goal percentage to 88.8 percent by making 8-of-9 field goals this season
