In his Monday press conference Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris said that the team is not sure on the status of center Jeff Faine and cornerback Aqib Talib. Both players suffered injuries during the Buccaneers 28-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Talib suffered a hip injury in the second quarter. Faine injured his tricep three plays into the fourth quarter. Both guys did not return.
“I don’t know the severity of them yet,” said Morris. “They got injured yesterday and both those guys left the game. I will have more information on what is going on with those guys later on today, tomorrow, and on Wednesday.”
Faine suffered a tricep injury in Week 1 last season, which caused him to miss four games. He also missed four games this season due to a quadriceps injury that he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. With only four games left in the season, Morris does not know if Faine will head to injured reserve or if it is just a day-to-day injury.
“I have to wait for doctor’s reports and Todd the trainer to see me to tell me what is going on with that stuff,” said Morris.
