In his Monday press conference Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris said that the team is not sure on the status of center Jeff Faine and cornerback Aqib Talib. Both players suffered injuries during the Buccaneers 28-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Talib suffered a hip injury in the second quarter. Faine injured his tricep three plays into the fourth quarter. Both guys did not return.

“I don’t know the severity of them yet,” said Morris. “They got injured yesterday and both those guys left the game. I will have more information on what is going on with those guys later on today, tomorrow, and on Wednesday.”

Faine suffered a tricep injury in Week 1 last season, which caused him to miss four games. He also missed four games this season due to a quadriceps injury that he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. With only four games left in the season, Morris does not know if Faine will head to injured reserve or if it is just a day-to-day injury.

“I have to wait for doctor’s reports and Todd the trainer to see me to tell me what is going on with that stuff,” said Morris.

Wait a minute! We don't have any offensive linemen on our practice squad. What are we going to do for replacements now?

Move Faine to IR. He won't be ready in 3-4 weeks and we aren't going to the playoffs. Lets see if Zuttah can be our starter next year and Fain is then history. He's way overpaid and that's why the Saints didn't bother to resign him. Way too much injury prone.

I don't think it is unreasonable at this point to start the "injury prone" conversation. Also, not realizing this even occurred at yesterday's game, I'm wondering who took his place? Zuttah, presumably, but he was at Right Guard - so WHO came in at Right Guard? Did they move Lee over from RT and put Trueblood at RT?
