Buccaneers left tackle Donald Penn will be going to his first Pro Bowl. Penn, who was named a Pro Bowl alternate this year, will replace Green Bay's Pro Bowl left tackle Chad Clifton as the Packers made the Super Bowl on Sunday by beating Chicago. Penn, who avoided a hold out this year by signing a six-year contract extension worth $37.2 million in base salary, was the second alternate to the 2011 Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday, January 29 in Hawaii. Atlanta Falcons right tackle Tyson Clabo, who was also an alternate, replaced Philadelphia tackle Jason Peters earlier in the week.

Tampa Bay's other Pro Bowl alternates this year were tight end Kellen Winslow and quarterback Josh Freeman. The last Bucs Pro Bowl offensive lineman to head to Hawaii was right guard Davin Joseph, who made the trip to the island after being an alternate in 2008. Joseph was also joined by return man Clifton Smith and linebacker Derrick Brooks that year.
