@ scubog: This is the second time you've directly shared your opinion with me on the Talib case. I get it. I’ve read it before as it's actually a popular opinion among some of the other PR posters. I couldn't tell you what I would do in another person’s situation. All I've ever been able to do is show what I would do in the situations I'm in. Talib’s actions don’t indicate that he isn’t a concerned family member, only that his decision making process needs work. I know that Talib will get much better guidance and become a better person in the NFL than he will in prison. Isn't that the goal? To rehabilitate? To improve? Aren't the cages for those that are beyond salvation? He has the potential to be great among his peers. I am not quick to snatch that opportunity from his hands. This isn't a football game we're talking about, this is someone's life. All they get. Football players maybe disposable but people are not. That is my point.

mjmoody, I really feel your compassion. I understand it. From Your "Soundoffs" are usually respectful and you are very supportive of the Bucs and the player's. Many of us feel that same way. Here's where I and others might see this differently. Guns are not the answer. They never have and will never resolve anything but death. There is nothing good about a hand gun except that it will probably kill somebodyespecially in the wrong hands. What is nuts to me about the whole hand gun issue is that the minority not the majority and hand gun lobbyist have allowed so many hand guns to get into the hands of people who have no reason or business to have them. I am not talking about rifles and shot guns because they are for hunting of animals in order for someone to feed themselves if that's the way they choose to feed themselves. Me, I just go to the grocery store or the meat market. Hand guns have a different purpose? To kill human beings. Not many people hunt with hand guns because the accuracy sucks. Again, one has to ask the question again? Why does anyone really needs to have a hand gun? A shot gun works fine in a house to protect your self.

This is a very serious matter. Lets keep in mind these posts are just opinions. The only fact I can say for sure is none of us we there to witness the incident. Let the process play out. The NFL should make the correct decision based on the outcome of their investigation and the legal process.

mjmoody: A "concerned family member" with any sense of loyalty would have gotten her out of the abusive relationship years ago and not bought them a house to share. How about calling the police? According to reports, the boyfriend wasn't beating his sister at the time when Talib and Big Mama arrived on the scene brandishing pistols. Nor was the boyfriend beating the sister when he was fleeing and Talib and Big Mama started firing "busting a cap" at him. We all would defend our family, but few would take Talib's approach. You people that expect us to believe you would have done the same exact thing Talib and Big Mama did are simply trying to look tough over cyberspace. Unless you're as foolish as Talib, you would have done what most would do.....call 911. I have two daughters and if one of them called to tell me their husband/boyfriend was beating them up I would FIRST call 911 and then go to her rescue, unarmed. A few years ago I gave two of my tickets to my daughter's boyfriend and his associate (both dentists). The associate, I'll call Joe, sat beside me and was pleasant. On his way home after the game he got a call from his girlfriend who told him her young son and a neighbor boy got into a fight and she was arguing with the boys father in the front yard over it. Instead of going to the scene, he first stopped by his house to get his gun. By the time he arrived the dispute was over but became reignited upon his arrival on his white horse and Might Mouse, "Here I am to save the day." attitude. Dentist Joe shot and killed the family man. Now the boy who got into a typical kids fight is fatherless and Dentist Joe is in prison.

Time to cut your losses Bucs. The pattern of escalation with Talib is scary. Marijuana in college, several assaults physical since. Now you have assault with a deadly weapon. Only way this is justifiable is if it's in self defense and that is clearly not the case here. Add in now that he's implicated his mother with his statements. Great guy C.Y.A. Bucs may decide to let him slide if he gets off or pleads the charges out but I will never accept him as part of my team.

mjmoody, Talib made these choices. No one wants him to be a felon. He showed up with a gun in his hand. Why would you or anyone else think it is somehow the right thing to do? I'm all for him getting probation and having to take mandatory anger management courses and be suspended for half the season if I knew he would behave. Right now I don't believe he has learned any lesson yet. He has no business owning any gun. He has proven already that you can not trust him with a firearm. The Bucs are not in the lets save and help everyone when they get in trouble. The competition is tough and we can have better character players than him. Of course he is humble now because he got charged. Thank goodness he did for his own sake or he would still be out there waving his gun around whenever he felt the need to.

NEWS FLASH: For all the hullabaloo going on about Talib's indictment, Aqib Talib is in Tampa working out with Josh Freeman and 40 or so other Bucs at an undisclosed location. All this means is that his team mates have not turned their backs on him and he obviously expects to be here for the season. Time wil tell......

I think I've built up a pretty good track record of predicting how things are going to turn out, but I want to wait and see what Aqib is actually convicted of before I say what will happen with him. I will however speculate depending on various outcomes. If there is no jail time associated with Aqib's punishment the Bucs will not cut him. Also if there is no jail time Aqib will only serve a 4 - 6 game suspension by the NFL. Case closed. If he does have to serve time in jail I think the league will suspend him at least 8 games. Depending on how long he is sentenced to jail will dictate whether the Bucs will cut him.

Mike Jenkins sucks, plain and simple. If we had taken him the only thing it would have accomplished is getting some of our coaches fired. *See Wade Phillips

Talib is done for at least a year, maybe longer. Very sad, repeatedly made poor decisions. Mike Jenkins out of USF was on the board when we took Talib. We went with the better talent and made the bet we could reign in the character issues. Jenkins came out strong as a rookie, has struggled in Dallas since, but at least he'll still be on the field and is coachable. Always tempting to take the risk, but when you being to build your team around one of these guys and it fails, very painful.

On a side note, I don't think Aqib will be sentenced to any jail time so hence he will not be cut. Whether he gets into trouble again after that will depend solely on whether God, his family or both influences him to do otherwise.

Of course his attorney and Talib they they are innocent. He doesn't want to go to jail. There will be a plea down. Talib came to the scene with gun in hand. There were many witnesses. I don't think he will be able to buy them all off. Some will prevail and justice will happen via a minor slap. If I am the Bucs I release him when it is legal to do so.. If I am the NFL Commissioner I suspend him for a year if he is found guilty of any plea down chargeof any type having to do with the gun.

Bye, bye. Sad to see his play go, but not him. That's my take.
