Yasinskas Has Joseph, Ruud As Bucs Top Free Agents

Written by Bucs

With NFL lockout looking like it will be ended shortly, the free agency open place should be opening up. ESPN's NFC South expert Pat Yasinskas has released his top 10 free agents in the NFC South. Yasinskas sees two Buccaneers making that list.
3. Davin Joseph, guard, Buccaneers. Along with left tackle Donald Penn, Joseph is the anchor of this offensive line. The Bucs have all sorts of salary-cap money, and their first move should be locking up Joseph for the long term.

9. Barrett Ruud, linebacker, Buccaneers. A solid all-around player, but the one knock on him is that he doesn’t make splash plays. Part of the reason for that might be that Tampa Bay hasn’t had a very good defensive line in front of him the past couple of years. Although Ruud has asked for a contract extension in the past, the Bucs have been hesitant to give him one. It might be time for the Bucs to step up or else they’ll risk being in a situation in which they haven’t had a normal offseason to prepare the guy who will call their defensive signals.

PewterReport.com's Take: It is interesting that Yasinskas picked Ruud over fellow Bucs linebacker Quincy Black. Even though Ruud has produced more impact seasons as a four-year starter and leading tackler on the team, many in the NFL believe that Black will see a better marketplace. The reason is because few teams run the Tampa 2 defense, and Ruud is viewed as a Tampa 2 linebacker. Many in the league believe that Black has the flexibility to play in other schemes. The Buccaneers are interested in re-signing both Ruud and Black if the price is right. The Carolina Panthers figure to be very busy before free agency. Yasinskas has three Panthers of the top four free agents in the division.

I sethat LB Paul Poslusny has resign. I would love to see Tampa go after CB Jonathan Joseph if Tampa can't get Asomugha. I also see RB AhmaD bRAdshaw and RT Tyson Clabo could be sign. If Tampa could sign Bradshaw,Clabo & Jonathan Joseph could really make the bucs real good if they have a chance tto sign them. I know Tampa has a chance. GO BUCS
