The Buccaneers are still trying to fill several coaching vacancies including both their offensive and defensive coordinators. The focus this week has been on the offensive side apparently, as a new report by FOXSports.com’s Alex Marvez says Tampa Bay is interviewing former Bears offensive coordinator John Shoop.
Tuesday Marvez also reported the Buccaneers were interested in Ron Turner and Bill Lazor. Lazor has since declined and will stay at the University of Virginia according to sources.
Marvez also reported Tampa Bay has hired Jimmy Raye II as a senior offensive assistant. Raye is a longtime NFL assistant whose most recent coaching job came as San Francisco’s offensive coordinator. He was fired during the 2010 season. Raye was the Buccaneers offensive coordinator in the mid 80’s and has an extensive NFL background.
