Former NFL player Terry Cousin was recently named the Buccaneers director of player engagement and takes over the duties of Eric Vance. Cousin played 12 years in the NFL and was coached by Bucs head coach Greg Schiano while with the Chicago Bears.
PewterReport.com has learned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made another addition to their staff earlier this month by hiring former NFL player and South Carolina director of player development Terry Cousin as the Buccaneers director of player engagement.
The Buccaneers confirmed the hire Thursday afternoon.
The hire was first reported by Gamecocksanatics.com on May 11 and included this quote from the athletic director Eric Hyman.
“Terry did a great job here,” athletics director Hyman said. “I’m happy for him, but I’m sorry for the athletic department. I think Terry has been absolutely terrific all the way across the board. He’s really, really been great to work with.”
Cousin spent 12 years in the NFL as a defensive back including time with the Chicago Bears where he was coached by Greg Schiano.
Tampa Bay did not disclose the duties of Cousin but it is expected his role will be similar to those held by former director of players relations Eric Vance. Vance helped facilitate and coordinate Buccaneers players in the numerous aspects of adjusting to being part of the NFL.
