Bucs right guard Davin Joseph was carted off the field with just under a minute remaining in the first half after he sustained a left knee injury against the Patriots.
LT Donald Penn’s man got inside Penn on the play and rolled up on Joseph’s knee. After Joseph was carted off, Penn was upset on the sideline and head coach Greg Schiano attempted to calm him down.
Joseph, who has been playing well this preseason, is entering his seventh season with Tampa Bay, and has consistently been the rock of the offensive line.
Ted Larsen who has played the majority of the last month as Jeremy Zuttah’s backup at center stepped in to replace Joseph.
The Bucs will also start the second half without defensive tackle Gerald McCoy who injured his right leg in the opening Patriots drive and defensive end Adrian Clayborn who is out with an elbow injury.
