I think our starters will hold their own against most of our opponents...which hasn't been the case for quite awhile now. Finally there's some quality depth at RB. Now we just have to work on the other 21 positions! Go Bucs!

I think for the first time in recent history (since Mike and Warrick) we have a legitimate 1-2 punch. Martin is a Rookie and has great potential. Blount has been one of the most productive offensive weapons we have had over the past two years. All we hear is "We are going to establsih the running game first." Give these two guys a Chance!!!!. If it dosent workout then I a agree With scubog try a different rout. (maby trade Blount.) Keep the other two for special teams or 3rd down situations or as back up in case of injury. I think Martin and Blount compliment each other and I think it is time we do something right with team for a change. Go Bucs

Do the Bucs forfeit the pick they got from winslow now that he has been cut ?

I think the point that was originally made about trading Blount was the thought that he would bring a 2nd round pick. If someone offers you a 2nd round pick for your backup RB you take it every day of the week - that's GM school class 101. The reality is that 2nd round picks get offered rarely for backup RBs. We would be better off keeping Blount than trading for a late round pick - that would seem obvious. Dom is doing the right things now - he trolls around for awhile trying to find a hidden gem, which he has uncannily done over the years. He is on the 3 year plan still and just trying to make us competitive this year - the Super Bowl run is still a little ways off - that's okay as long as we keep moving forward like we did this offseason. Let's hope he finds us another Penn, Bennett, Blount ths year...GO BUCS!

I gotta admit that I was surprised to see them pick up a running back. Our needs at DL are so great and my thinking is that they would bring in several guys to look at. IF McCoy gets hurt, I shudder to think what our interior line will look like.

I see the point that Blount would have some trade value but not until further along in the season when we might find a more desperate trade partner. I wouldn't take anything less than a 2nd round choice but I'd rather keep # 27 for now.

scubog, I really like Blounts style of running and it works when we have a decent right side of the line. Blount usually runs thru the left of Joseph or the right of Joseph and he's not there this year. I believe the trade value is now because I don't believe Blount will be effective with our present ROL. I see your point about waiting and increasing his demand; lets hope he can produce between now and then. I don't think it will happen because he is not in his same spot where he starts to run and has just a fraction of a second less time to break thru the hole and challange the Safety and CB for a long gain. It also doesn't help that we are very weak on the right side now. I understand now why Coach Schiano traded up to get Martin as he fits into his scheme.

In 2010 #27 rushed for 1,000 yards as a waiver wire undrafted rookie, behind a make-shift (for a portion of the year) offensive line. In 2011 he had 700 yards with limited carries because of an offense with no passing attack and a cheese cloth defense. He has had close to a career's worth of highlight reel runs in two seasons in the NFL. And you guys think they want to trade him?!!! The Bucs would be crazy to trade Blount for less than a top tier, young, D-line or O-line position.

Horse, Stephen holder agrees if you change "will" to a "maybe". If I look at a highlight reel I say no way. If I look at a game tape, I think the big plays are few and far between - just not enough consistent production. You may very well be right on this one!
