DT Gilberry Back; Ex-Nole Reed, 7 More Added To Practice Squad

Head coach Greg Schiano told the media Saturday that the Buccaneers roster is a work in progress and on Monday Tampa Bay made two roster moves in addition to setting their eight-man practice squad.
With a new head coach comes tons of changes. On Monday the Buccaneers continued their reshuffling of the roster – from the 53-man to the practice squad.

Tampa Bay announced today that they have re-signed DL Wallace Gilberry and waived G Julian Vandervelde.
 Gilberry was waived Saturday – in the middle of practice – to make room for Vandervelde.

The team also announced it has released G Brian Folkerts from the practice squad and signed T Bradley Sowell to the practice squad in addition to, LB Jacob Cutrera, TE Drake Dunsmore, WR Dale Moss, WR Bert Reed, LB J.K. Schaffer, QB Adam Weber and DE Markus White.

    If there was one player I wish they would consider bringing back, besides Underwood, it would be E.J. Wilson. He was having a great camp and did well in preseason play.

    certainly agree regarding Underwood. Shame to have lost him...he definitely put it all out there for preseason. Don't know if I have a lot of faith in the WR group presently on board. hmm

    Chicago cut Brian Price today. We are a 7th round pick to the good. If there is any medical possibility that he can ever get healthy, I would bring this guy back at the veteran minimum and immediately put him on IR for a year. This guy can play if he's well, but the question remains - can he ever get well?

    Macabee - Agreed. Only I don't know if he's been playing long enough to get the veteran minimum, but we'd certainly be able to sign him for less than he would have made this year had we kept through training camp. Again, I think being released twice in less than 6 weeks would humble him. He adopted his late sister's kids so he is going to need a good paying job. Playing for the Bucs offers more money than anything else so maybe he'll be motivated to stay in shape and healthy if we were to re-sign him.

    macabee, Pinkstop; I don't see Price coming back. Coach doesn't tolerate temper tantrum's. Price has had two off seasons to get physically healed if he had stayed focused. I understand that his sister death didn't help, but it could have if he had chosen to do so. We all feel for him, but this is a business. He moves on and so do the Bucs.

    Any word if they are interested in Terrell McClain cut by Carolina. Third rounder who started 12 games at DT last year

    Well if Blount is not traded today then I will be wrong and this is basically the team as of now. Bringing Gilberry back versus Wilson was a little surprise. I am glad Sowell made the PS. He has a chance to get stronger and quicker; now if we can keep Reid out of trouble he could contribute next season. Our defense appears to be the makings of a small, but fast team. I see a lot of blitzing here. We do have a chance to beat Carolina. Go Bucs!

    Horse, what do you mean by "now if we can keep Reid out of trouble..."? Bert Reed was never in any major trouble by himself at FSU, except for in 2008 when he was involved in an altercation involving football players and a fraternity in which charges were dropped. Are you confusing him with Greg Reid who got booted from FSU last month and is now at Valdosta State?

    Buc-up; oops my bad. I should have know you knew every player that has played at FSU and I am limited. You're right, I got the two Reid's mixed up.

    Moss is an awesome athlete...former basketball player with great vertical leap. Could be something special in another year.
