The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed TE Nate Byham and released DE Jeff Charleston.
Byham entered the league with the San Francisco 49ers as a sixth-round pick (182 overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft, spending the last two seasons with the team. Known as a one of the best blocking tight end prospects coming out of college, Byham played in 14 games and started three during his rookie season for the 49ers, recording five receptions for 27 yards. He started for three seasons at the University of Pittsburgh and was a two-time All-Big East selection under the guidance of current Buccaneers Tight Ends coach Brian Angelichio.
