Report: Black Cited For Marijuana Possession

The Buccaneers secondary troubles continue, as a published report said safety Ahmad Black was cited for marijuana possession recently.
According to published reports Buccaneers safety Ahmad Black was cited for possession of marijuana and is scheduled for arraignment on December 3.

The report said Black received a citation on October 30 for possession of less than 20 grams, which is first-degree misdemeanor.

Black could face discipline under the NFL's personal conduct policy. Discipline could range from a fine to a suspension.

The former Gator has 15 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble playing in a reserve role for the Buccaneers this season.

The Buccaneers are obviously hurting in the secondary already, as troubled cornerback Aqib Talib was dealt to the Patriots last Thursday. Talib was in the middle of a four-game suspension for Adderall.

Reports surfaced last month that cornerback Eric Wright could also be facing a four game suspension, also for Adderall.

Second year cornerback Anthony Gaitor is currently on the injured reserve list and still has two more games before he is eligible to return.

Tampa Bay is dead last in the NFL in pass defense, surrendering an average of 321 yards per game.

The Buccaneers have not commented on Black’s legal situation.

    So sad to hear this. He had potential to be a great DB for this team. Goes to show nothing good happens after 1:00 AM...while driving on the wrong side of Hillsborough Avenue...when the officer smells mj in your car...when you have a joint in the pocket of the driver's side door...in your own car.

    He needs to move to Colorado where it is legal now. In Colorado they can have up to an ounce of Pot on them and can grow up to 6 plants legally. I have a question maybe some of you could answer. If a player lives in Colorado where Pot is legal and test dirty for the NFL is he in violation even though its not illegal or performance inhancing?

    As far as pot being legal in CO and WA now it's still the NFL company policy and that trumps state laws. I have a concealed carry permit so I can legally have a handgun on me but if I carry it into work and they find out I get terminated on the spot not questions asked.

    Ive said it before and Ill say it again, your weed laws down south in the States are ridiculous. Alcohols a worse drug than weed is.

    What a joke. If marijuana use gets Black, or any player suspended, then players should be punished for alcohol and tobacco consumption too. I hold nothing against Ahmad Black for this.

    SDBucfan, this has nothing to do with whether or not it SHOULD be punishable to smoke weed. The fact of the matter is that it IS punishable, and these guys know it. It is selfish, irresponsible, and just plain dumb for any of them to smoke weed while they're under contract. The reasons why the act is selfish and irresponsible are obvious. It is dumb because players risk losing huge sums of money for the pleasure of lighting up. Four games checks for Ahmad Black comes out to a total of over $100,000. Think that's worth it to him? Cuz I'll bet you he would tell you it's not. There's just no good reason to do it considering everything at stake for both Ahmad and his team. And he IS responsible for that, and for that he should have something held against him by coaches, teammates, ownership, and fans.

    I realize that. I wouldn't smoke weed either and certainly not if I was being paid hundreds of thousands and expected not to smoke it. However, all I was saying is that I think it's a joke players can get punished for it when alcohol and tobacco use are just as bad, if not worse.

    Ha! Well said Scubog not sure what the hell is going on at OneBuc. On one hand excited as hell at being 4-4 and playing some exciting football. On the other our secondary seems to be getting caught with drugs on a weekly basis.
