With the reported hiring of Tony Oden as defensive backs coach on Wednesday, it appeared the Buccaneers were nearly set with their 2013 coaching staff.

But according to published reports there will be another vacancy to fill, as special teams coach Bob Ligashesky has been fired.

The Buccaneers led the NFL in blocked punts (3) in 2012 but the kickoff and punt return teams struggled finishing 30th in kickoff return and 19th in punt returns.

The Buccaneers failed to comment on the report when contacted.

With the reported firing of Ligashesky, and the hiring of Oden, head coach Greg Schiano now has two coaching position to fill, a receivers coach to replace P.J. Fleck, who took the head coaching job at Western Michigan in December and Ligashesky's replacement.

Ligashesky is the fourth member of Schiano’s 2012 coaching staff to be replaced joining DBs coach Ron Cooper, QB coach Ron Turner, and Fleck.

When I was googling online, I saw that Dave Wannstedt took over ST. Does anyone know what's going on? Update: found it again, this time from ESPN! Adam Scheffler quotes league sources...4:56 PM ET

Well regardless of who they will hired.Lets see which way the coach staff goes with the draft and FA that are coming. Iam looking forward to Tampa to pick 5 players within the draft system to do just fine with Tampa Bay. Remember folks The Main Coach has the finally say on who gets fired and who gwts Hired. Remmeber Def Coach Rob Ryan is still available HUM! GO BUCS

I'm sharing with you guys what I've heard from various sources about coaching moves, but you are best to wait on PR or other reputable outlets to confirm what I've heard. Now with that disclaimer, the Bucs have hired Paul Ferraro as ST coach. If this is true, Schiano will have his old Rutgers tour-de-force back together again. Ferraro was his DC at Rutgers and McNulty, now QB coach was his OC.

Yes Deacon Blues, We did learn something from last season and admitted as much in my last post that no official announcements have been made, but some have been talked about - Schiano talked about Flecks departure and Dominik confirmed that Melvin was still D-Line coach. Now reading your last sentence, you evidently have not learned anything since last night because PR reported that Tony Oden had been hired as DB coach and in the very article you're commenting on it states very clearly that the ST position is now open. But thanks anyway for the reminder!

Has no one learned anything from last season. The Buccaneers do not comment on Coaching hires until all are signed. The team did not confirm any of the assistant coaches last year until all vacancies were filled.... Refer to the Mark Dominic interview from January 23rd. With an emphasis on the last sentence. “Until we get signed contracts I don’t want to comment on anybody. We’re still talking about a couple more interviews, even tomorrow. Right now we have no opening beyond the defensive backs job."

Yes Mark, this is the second time you have reported that Garrett is not confirmed by the Bucs as WR coach, so I don't believe it to be an error. If PR has information that is contrary to what pretty much everybody else has reported, please let us know. Wiki is even showing him as WR coach. To your credit, I have seen no official statement on any of their coaching moves, so I'm not doubting your report, just seeking clarification.

I felt that this was coming considering the putrid numbers in kickoff and punt returns, but it's pretty late in the game. I would hope that Schiano already has someone in mind to take over. Also, Mark, what's the deal with the wide receivers coaching job? I've read numerous reports including one on ESPN Dallas that John Garrett was going to be the wide receivers coach. What's going on?
